Venue Spotlight: Friar’s Well on the Alnwick Castle Estate

After dressing the impressive Alnwick Castle for a photo shoot for their wedding brochure last year, we were delighted to be asked back to help style the new exclusive wedding venue that Northumberland Estates has to offer. Friar’s Well is a private and intimate venue set in the secluded Hulne Park yet just minutes away from the centre of Alnwick. We teamed up with Focal Point Photography to capture a ceremony, reception and dinner party setting for the new wedding brochure.   We love the neutral colours in this room... Read the Rest →

Wildflowers and Hessian for Leah and Tony at As You Like It in Jesmond

As You Like It is one of our favourite venues to dress, because it’s already so beautiful! All you need is a few finishing touches to make the rooms more personal to you and the result is one pretty awesome wedding look! Leah and Tony went for ivory lace sashes for the chairs plus hessian and lace details for the long tables and vintage cream jugs filled with wildflowers as the main table centres. Leah also provided lots of glass bottles for us to fill with plenty of gypsophila. Hessian... Read the Rest →

Lace Sashes and DIY Details – Marie and Adam at Newton Hall

Marie is one of my favourite bride’s from 2014 – I think it’s because we both have the same bargain-loving and spreadsheet tendencies! All that was left for us to do was add the lace sashes to the chiavari chairs at Newton Hall and coordinate the decorations according to Marie’s plan!   Lace chair sashes and table runners by Styled and Seated  Photography by Scott Spock ... Silver and Lace – Alison and Michael at Hallgarth Manor Hotel

Alison wanted a really sophisticated wedding day with vintage elements so we incorporated white lace and vintage cameo brooches with her elegant choice of silver organza sash. Her venue, Hallgarth Manor in Durham, has the large Cathedral Suite on offer – perfect for a good sized wedding breakfast and a party afterwards. We dressed the room with fairy lights and the 20ft starlight backdrop to add some extra romance. For the table centres we started with the silver candelabra and built the look from there. Alison’s bouquet was a mixture... Read the Rest →

Choosing Your Colour – Sometimes Neutral Comes Naturally

Some of the most elegant weddings I have dressed use neutral coloured sashes to create a clean and crisp look. Ivory, silver, champagne, black and pale gold have all made an appearance this year to stunning effect. Some of my bride’s set out with a very specific look in mind, others are too indecisive to choose just one colour and keep things simple with gorgeous ivory – as with Jill’s wedding at Matfen Hall. Bride Alison chose her shining silver sashes after struggling to find the exact match to her... Read the Rest →
