Rachel and Gareth’s Winter Wedding at Matfen Hall
Last Christmas we had the honour of creating Rachel and Gareth’s stunning winter wedding at Matfen Hall in Northumberland. Rachel had a unique vision for her day with so many lovely details that really helped bring everything together.
Rachel’s huge cascading bouquet featured lots of eucalyptus, ruscus, classic red roses, viburnum berries, hypericum berries and added pine cones – while her bridesmaids’ bouquets were kept simple with just foliage tied with a crimson ribbon.
The ceremony, held in the Great Hall, was one of the first to take place after Matfen Hall’s stunning recent refurbishment and used our candelabra on plinths to add even more grandeur to the space. We also created a full fireplace piece with foliage and candles as a backdrop to the vows. Copper lanterns lined the aisle and our red chiffon chair drapes adorned the chiavari chairs from Crosby Hire.
Don’t they look beautiful?! Picture perfect in every way and check out the couple’s extra special VIP guest!…

When it came to the reception details Rachel wanted to go all-out with the venue styling. She opted for our burgundy napkins set on gold beaded charger plates with copper cutlery hired again from Crosby Hire. Then the table centres featured the aisle lanterns with added moss, logs and copper candlesticks to really add some rustic interest to the tables.
The really great thing about a wedding at this time of the year is that the Christmas decorations add even more sparkle and festive spirit to the day. Matfen Hall really is the perfect winter wedding setting.
As a last note, Rachel made her own copper pipe table plan and it looked amazing on the day – complete with Reindeer themed table names!
