Bright Blooms at Brinkburn St Brewery for Tom and Maria
I am writing this during the UK’s ‘lockdown’ phase of controlling the Covid-19 virus – it’s all very strange and scary and sad for our clients that unfortunately won’t be able to get married until all of this is over. However, the photographs from an amazing wedding we worked on in February have come my way and have really cheered me up – so I wanted to share them with all my future couples to inspire and delight!
Tom and Maria are a lovely couple and I was honoured to be asked to create the flowers and help with the styling of the day. This was also an extra special wedding as it was the first to be held at Brinkburn St Brewery in Newcastle – check it out here – after a ceremony in Tynemouth.
The bouquet brief was ‘bright’ to match the bridesmaids’ gowns with added springtime fun in the flowers. Into the rainbow mix we added ranunculus, anemones, rich red chrysanthemums and pops of yellow craspedia balls. All delivered to The Grand Hotel on the morning of the wedding. This continued into the buttonholes and the flowers for the church and venue tables.
The Church of Our Lady and St Oswin in Tynemouth is just so lovely – really intimate and yet big enough to fit the 100-strong guest list and we did our best to add a little touch of foliage and colour to the pew ends and altar.
After the ceremony there was a quick break for photographs by the very talented Pictures by Bish in the brisk February breeze before heading over to Ouseburn for the reception.
The day before the wedding myself and the couple’s’ families decked the venue out with gold table runners, jars of flowers, our cake hoop stand and hundreds of handmade pompoms in all the colours of the dresses. The result was stunning and really suited the eclectic vibe of the venue.
After some amazing speeches by the couple’s very talented friends we danced the night away – including partying to a set from The Futureheads and getting in the Gif Booth for a photo or two – whilst eating amazing donuts from R Place.
We loved working with such amazing colours and flowers and had a fantastic time at the wedding as guests. I hope this has brightened your day, and if you’d like any more information about your own wedding flowers and venue styling in Newcastle or Northumberland, you can get in touch here.
